Okay, I just finished the game.
The unveiling of her true form was kinda permanent (Ganondorf's curse was broken and her shape remained that way), so I bet either:
1. Childish Midna would have that Fused Shadow transformation as an Extreme Attack, because it's reversible
or
2. The Real Midna would appear as a fighter (probably as a hidden character, to avoid inmediate spoilers). Shadrio of S.F. made me realize Real Midna even appears in the first artwork shown in the instruction booklet for the game (along with Zelda and Zant), which makes her as iconic + spoiling of the plot as Sheik was.

I'd say little Midna, due to her more prominent role.

That was only when riding Wolf Link; I can't picture them as separated. She is ashamed of her imp shape, and if she ever fought alone, it would have been by using the hand on her head or something. It's almost like they first made Wolf Link and they introduced Midna as an imp just to make him more suitable to fight by letting Midna lend him the spin attack (not sure of whether that was the reason). The only good thing I see is that she would be tiny, swift, and light, giving more variety to the roster. But two of Sheik's moves were also made-up, so I'd play creative and give fighting skills to the real Midna, probably some of them inherited from little Midna. Come on, feel your Zelda nerdiness and realize real Midna would be cooler and more significative even though we didn't see her in action (same as Sheik). She's the actual Twilight Princess and she fits as unlockable. I feel like your site suddenly needs many submissions right now, including about three Pokémon, and the real Midna in case your mind changes . HiddenTiger, what do people think about the real Midna at SmashBoards.com? No mention of her?

You have a good point, but remember, of her two forms, little Midna fights (sure, on wolf-back) and is seen more, even more is more recognizable.
Also, technically, Midna was still the Twilight Princess even while an imp. Remember, a sage called her the Twilight Princess to her face right when you got the first Mirror Shard.

The truth is both are recognizable if you finished the game and you're not somebody who has only seen images of the game. The same could have happened to somebody who watched random screenshots of Sheik and had not played the game before 2001, hence not knowing "he" was Zelda's alter ego.
I get your point; it even reminds me of why the Beast (from Disney's Beauty and the Beast) stayed as his beast form in crossovers like the House of Mouse show even though he managed to become a human again at the end of the movie.
But I'd leave it to the creators' judgement. I must admit I'm basing myself on (1) the comparison with Sheik, and (2) the aformentioned artwork, as I tend to take those collage artworks as the actual intentions (on telling the game's tale) from the designers of the game.

HiddenTiger, what do people think about the real Midna at SmashBoards.com? No mention of her? Smashboards is actually pretty evenly split. About 1/3 think that Midna should be in imp form, riding wolf Link. Another third think that she should be in imp form by herself, and the remaining third want to see her true form in Smash.

I scanned the artwork. If Midna is playable, then: - Her main trophy would most likely depict her in her imp form, because it's more recognizable.
- Her "Smash" trophies would depict her the same way she's shown as playable (either as an imp or as her actual shape).
They could as well show her in a "Wolf Link & Midna" trophy. All of that is while assuming there will still be trophies, 3-D models, pictures, or any other trophy-like library mode in SSBB.

Assumption: Trophies have been around since Smash 64. Initially these trophies were only of playable characters and always around, but in Melee they got their real kick, the library-styled trophy room. A Trophy Mode is very likely to happen. I conclude that Midna trophies may work in a different style, showing her playable form (for future example, Imp Midna) in the Victory trophies and her non-playable forms (in example, Real and Wolf Midnas) as trophies obtained in a similar fashion to the Lottery trophies or the Goomba Trophy. Another possibility is that Midna gets all three forms in her Victory trophies, thereby showing the playable Imp Midna as well as the non-playable Real and Wolf Midnas (still using my former examples.)
Statement: However, this is only assumption, and it's just as likely that I'm just being an idiot about it all.
Confession: Okay, I seriously would hate to have to talk like HK-47. His speech-pattern is too painfully obnoxious.
Interjection: Eh....
Statement: Yeah, I think I'll stop.
