Special dedication to Mr. G(oomba)! I'm sure you'll understand why upon reading the submission! [glow=red,2,300]Stage[/glow] Name: Goomba Bridge Region: Mushroom Kingdom From: Super Mario All-Stars Year: 1994 System: SNES [glow=red,2,300]Map[/glow] It is made with sprites from the game, so there's no need of other pictures: [glow=red,2,300]Description[/glow] This stage actually appeared in the original Super Mario Bros., but since the NES did not have great graphics (and it's normal), the wonderful background was added in Super Mario All-Stars, which was released on the SNES (thus better graphics). This stage is located in the Mushroom Kingdom, in an area that seems to be dedicated to Goombas, since there are big statues of them everywhere in the background. This area has three main platforms,as you can see on the map. Thety are flat and rather long, so it's a good place to fight on. However, there are several pits, so keep careful if you don't want to be KOed in no time. Though the stage is semingly peaceful, it's rather dangerous. Rather often, tons of Cheep-Cheeps will jump out of the water running much lower, below the battlefield. As they jup very well, they will cross the whole stage using their fins to hover. Being rammed by a Cheep-Cheep damages for 7%. Here is an animated sprite of a Cheep-Cheep; enjoy! (In SSBB, it would "fly" faster) [glow=red,2,300]Stage Music[/glow] Click here to listen to it! Do you like it? And Mr.G, I hope you like this idea!

The music doesn't suit the level. I'd hope for that music in a water level. Otherwise, though, it's an awesome submission.

The stage looks pretty and the layout and hazards are fine. I think an underground level is more imperative than this one, though. Shrikeswind is right about the BGM belonging to a water level (BTW, that's the waltz I'm going to ask for when I get married!). But I'm not sure of what else can be given to it besides a remix of that one. I wonder if that name is official? It seems more suitable to be named after the Cheep-Cheeps.

@ ansur, thanks a lot for your approval!!! @ Mr.G, I hope you like it!! @ Shirkeswind, I'm glad you like it! As for the music, I know it's the underwater theme for SMB1. However, I do not think there will be any underwater stage submission. I remember on SBO, all the underwater stages were rejected because no one could agree with either the slow motion or the infinite jumps. If you guys are ready to accept one of these modifications, I will submit an underwater stage using this music. @ Johans, thanks a lot!! It may not be a major area, indeed, but it seems very suitable. About the music, just read above. It would be a good waltz idea!! ) And the name is not official...

A water stage would slow your character down, but not to the point of slo-mo and wouldn't have infinite jumps, but it WOULD decrease gravity, meaning you'd jump higher and fall slower. That seems like a reasonable way to make a water-level work.

Then I may submit a few underwater stages. Other comments on this stage?

How often would the Cheap-cheaps make their flights?

Every ten seconds, about a dozen of Cheep-Cheeps will appear.

Too many too quick.

Let's say every fifteen seconds, about ten Cheep-Cheeps appear

That's not too quick. It's actaully slow. In the actaul game they came every second! Plus there was about twenty of them.

I found it was too quick. I felt that there needed to be a chance to avoid them if this were to be a Smash stage.
