A different formula from Charizard and Squirtle, here's Ivysaur. Name: Ivysaur Game: Pokemon Red/Blue Year: I'll check when I give enough of a crap to do it. Up-B Poison Powder: Ivysaur releases a cloud of poisonous spores to poison nearby enemies. B Razor Leaf: Ivysaur "throws" a pair of bladed leaves to slash anyone in their paths. Side-B Take Down: Ivysaur launches out in an outward headbutt, effective as his recovery move. Down-B Return: Ivysaur switches with Charizard. Final Leaf Storm: Ivysaur bombards the stage with a flurry of razor-sharp leaves. Stats Speed :: 5/10 Power :: 6/10 Jump :: 4/10 Fall :: 7/10 Size :: 5/10 Weight :: 7/10 Traction :: 5/10 Ivysaur uses Vine Whips and Tackles as A moves. Ivysaur's Smashes are Strength (Up,) Vine Whip (Side,) and Grass Knot (Down.) Ivysaur holds everything (stages, items, people) with Vine Whip.

Perhaps, but it's easier in the long run this way.

Why? Were you expecting Ivysaur's Up-B to be Vine Whip? I did go with Level-ups for him. For the most part.

One of his Level-ups? That's odd. What do you think it ought to be?

I'm not really sure, I haven't played PKMN in so long ^_^; I just figured something a little more recoverable would be nice.

That's taken by Take Down, so an Up-B recovery is unneeded. Further that he use air-grabs like Link and Samus.

Not sure about Take Down suitable for recovering. If Up + B isn't going to be a recovery move, I'd try giving it some seed attack as a projectile. For the name of the Down + B move, replace it with "Pokémon Change" if it's going to appear in the site, as "Return" means another thing in Pokémon. Also, everybody needs to see this scan of Famitsu if you haven't yet. This other one is off-topic.

I blame the same reason Mario's does whenever he uses Super Jump Punch: It's awesome.
Anyways, I find Take Down would make sense. If you have an anime clip of a Pokemon using Take Down, though, let's see it.

Anyways, I find Take Down would make sense. If you have an anime clip of a Pokemon using Take Down, though, let's see it. If Take Down is a headbutt like you say, then it's not that bad. I take it this Tauros is using one: I'm confused, though (especially because I almost always watch the Spanish dub). I thought Take Down wass something like this, what Dino does on Fred Flintstone. Basically a Run + A move. Bayleef used to use this a lot as a sign of love to Ash Ketchum: On closer inspection, the closest move of the Bayleef species to that is Body Slam, but I'm sure Body Slam is performed another way (basically falling on the opponent and hitting it with the belly).
