The producer of Super Smash Bros. Brawl spoke to a Tokyo gaming radio show recently and revealed three new characters for the series. Bowser Jr, Ridley (from the Metroid Prime series) and Cell-shaded Link. Unfortunately Ice Climbers, G&W and original child Link won’t be in the game.
The good news is that the number of characters in the game should reach forty and it is expected that another fifteen unannounced characters remain.

Tail Stab: Ridley stabs his opponent with his spiked tail, damaging him for 12%. This attack will also propel the opponent upward, and make him spin (that means he won't land properly)
Ridley Rocket: Ridley will fly diagonally upward, in the direction you've chosen with the analog. If he rams an opponent, he will damage him for 10%.
Metamorphosis: Ridley transforms into Meta Ridley
Extreme Attack
Norfair Curse: Ridley will shriek, and the whole screen will become redish and rather blurred. The temperature will increase during 15 seconds, and the damage percentage of all the opponents will dramatically increase during that period. This Extreme deals about 70% damage to every enemy on screen, but every one, including Ridley, is slowed down a lot during these 15 seconds.

Meson Bomb Launcher: Meta Ridley will fly high upward, and will then fall down slowly by hovering. You can control Meta Ridley's fall with the analog (like with Peach's up B move). If you press B while Meta Ridley is hovering, he will drop a Meson Bomb, damaging for 10%
