Basic Rules
Okay, here are some fairly obvious rules for submitting.
1) This board is for first and second party submissions only. This means Super Mario and Metroid series, but not Metal Gear or Banjo-Kazooie. Fully stated, if Nintendo owns it, submit it here.
2) Remember, it's always up to me, but I will allow a submission I don't like under two circumstances.
4) You have to know what buttons and control-stick directions do what. If you don't know, use Nintendorks for help. Final Smashes are to be labelled accordingly.
5) All forum rules still apply. I almost feel as if this is unnecessary to say, but someone's probably going to do it in a submission.
6) Tell us exactly what you're doing in the title. New stuff should be listed as "New ___: ___." Stuff from Melee or Smash 64 should be listed as "Return ___: ___." Resubmissions for the board should be done as "___ Resubmission: ___."
7) No using other people's ideas. If the submission was vague about what it was, that's one thing, but if you submit something that was plainly someone else's and there was no ambiguity as to what was going on, no. I WILL find proof of thieves. I define this as...
Outrageous: Something that you can't always see or that has no way of holding something, including mouth, psychic powers, or string. Characters who are able to fly I'll allow. Characters with no capacity to fight on their own I will not. Characters who don't fight I will not.
Challenges
A way to create the ultimate submission is a challenge. Here's how it works.
1) Someone challenges someone else's submission.
2) Challenger and submitter obtain permission from me to begin.
3) Challenger submits the character with their move-set.
4) Three judges determine which they like best.
5) Submitters alter move-sets if desired.
6) Steps 4 and 5 repeat twice.
7) The winner of the third round wins the challenge.
The prize? The submission may be put on the main site. There are two restrictions to challenges, though.
1) You MUST have a good reason to make the challenge. You must not like three moves (including Extreme,) two if you don't like the 4/7 of the stats.
2) You may not challenge more than two submissions a week.
Format
When submitting, stick to the following format, please.
Characters
A picture of the character, preferably 400 pixels high.
The four B moves (Up, Down, Side, and Neutral).
The Final Smash.
Stats
First game appearance
Year of first appearance
Taunt
Stages
A map of some kind (preferably sprite or a screen-shot.)
Items
115x110 image of item.
What game it came from.
What they do (of course).
Bosses
Similar to characters, but no stats or taunts required.
By the way, a boss, by the standards of this site, is a character (large or small, by boss standards, large more likely) that can't be obtained in game (unless by Action Replay) and serve the role as a fight in Adventure Mode, Classic Mode, or the rumored Story Mode (which I support and is therefore a side-feature of the site, sooner or later anyways). Please note that, not you, but I will determine which mode a boss belongs in.
Stats
1 through 10 ranking.
Speed: How fast you can move. 1 is slow, 10 is fast.
Power: Speed with a heavy object. 1 is slow, 10 is fast.
Jump: How high you can jump. 1 is low, 10 is high.
Fall: How fast you fall. 1 is slow, 10 is fast.
Size: How tall you are. 1 is short, 10 is tall.
Weight: How hard it is to move you. 1 is light, 10 is heavy.
Traction: How quickly you stop or turn. 1 is slippery, 10 is firm.
Bulk Submissions
Okay, if you have a bulk submission (a good example, the Ridley submission and Threed), I'd like to point out the rules for making them.
Okay, here's the scoop. Bulk submissions are submissions with more than one form or just in general more than one unrelated submission. Four good examples of bulk submissions.
Threed (Multi-form stage)
Zelda (Multi-form character)
Deoxys (Multi-stat character)
Pokeball (Multi-purpose item)
So, if you have a submission like that, I encourage you greatly to organize it with the Hyper Link Submissions board.
Review
1) Try and be as constructive as possible. Just saying "I like this" is unhelpful in the extreme. That said, if you legitimately cannot come up with a way to improve upon the submission, say so. Sometimes it's easy to see where improvement can be made, other times, it just isn't.
2) If you don't like what someone says, don't be a jerk. This applies both ways: If you read a reply to your submission that shreds the submission, but the reply is constructive, don't go shouting at them, likewise, if you reply to a submission and give no help for how the submission can be improved on, you're being bad. Be nice, people. It's just not worth the trouble for either you, the other person, or my staff.

- There has to be 2/3 vote positive before I vote.
- The submission isn't Ash Ketchum or something totally outrageous, which I will define later.

- Taking ideas from another site that you didn't come up with.
- Taking ideas from this site for your own site.
- Trying to say "I came up with this" when someone's not around to say anything against it.
