This is a bad-ass realm from Super Mario Bros. 3. I'm including some of the most awesome bits to add to the stage's sweet. What bits? You'll see in a minute.
Name: Koopahari Desert
Region: --
Game: Super Mario Bros. 3
Year: 1990
Ah, yes. The Koopahari Desert. Such an amazing place for a fight. It's a barren wasteland of sand, sand, and more sand. A really HOT barren wasteland of sand, sand, and more sand. There are definately a number things to watch out for, though!
As the picture shows, there is quicksand in all the pits. This makes it harder to recover, because, like in Super Mario Bros. 3, you can jump out of it and it is, technically, a platform, so you have the ability to constantly jump, but there's one LITTLE problem. Your jumps are absolutely pathetic in quicksand, meaning that, until you clear the quicksand, you're stuck. The quicksand is possibly more dangerous than a real it for that very reason.
That, of course, and what they house. Every so often, a Piranha Plant will rise out of the sand and spit a pair of fireballs to it's left and right. If anyone touces the plant, it will bite them, hurting them quite a bit.
No, I don't suppose the Koopahari Desert would be complete if you didn't have this next part. The heat is unbearable in the Koopahari, and you can see why quite blatantly: The Angry Sun. He doesn't just float there glaring from above, either. Every so often, he'll swoop down from the background and attempt to scorch anyone who touches him.
This one's a nuisance more than anything. Every so often, from the right side of the stage, one of these will sweep by. It's a Tweester, ready to throw you in an upwards fashion. If you've racked up enough damage, you will be KO'd.
The blocks here are breakable, all 10 of them. They reappear over time. However, they don't turn out any goodies, and sometimes, when the ones on the sides reappear, they aren't blocks, and can't be destroyed by most conventional means. The reason? They are Piledriver Microgoombas, immensely powerful miniature Goombas who jump about hiding in their blocks. Be careful! If they land on you, they will really hurt. If they jump into the quicksand they will no longer be an issue, same if you jump into a block from beneath while the Piledriver Microgoombas are atop the block. Likewise, if they can be dodged for five seconds, they'll leave of their own accord out of boredom. Hammers also work.
