My submissions are getting weirder! ;D
Name: Bonus Palace
General location: Donut Plain
From: SUper Mario World
Year: 1992-1993
System: SNES
Pics: Those pics aren't official, they come from a fan comic, but they are good to understand the stage, as you can see how it works, and what would the fight would occur.
This is a moving stage like SSBM's Icicle Mountain. It's set in a bonus room from SMW, and the screen is scrolling up and down at rather slow speed. Sometimes, the screen-scrolling will speed up or slow down, though. If you don't jump fast enough, you will soon get offscreeen and be KOed. The screen-scrolling may stop for a few seconds, as well.
The grey-brown platforms are obviously non-solid, which allows the characters to go through them by jumping or by dropping down, while the screen goes down. The yellow "?" blocks scattered throughout all the Bonus Palace are solid. If you want to hit them, there will be a little game like in SMW. When you hit a random block on a line (pic 1), two things can happen:
1) A circle appears in the block (pic 3 and 4)
2) The three blocks turn brown (pic 2), and the game for this ine is over as nothing will happen. Try again in a nother line of blocks.
If a circle has appeared, try to hit another block from the line. Two things can happen, again.
1) Another circle appears in the block you've just hit (pic 4). Hit the last yellow block of that line to get a great, rare item. You won that mini-bonus game.
2) The two other blocks on the line will turn brown (pic 3) You've lost the game for this line, so try again.
Sometimes, the screen-scrolling will lead you to the top of the bonus Palace where is set an very large Switch Room. Have a look at the pic below. There is a similar room at the bottom of the stage. Unlike the room on the pic, there would be pits on each side.
If you jump on the Switch in the center, tons of yellow platforms will randomly appear in the room. You can use them as extra platforms, but there are many, many, so use this to turn the tables on your opponents. After twenty seconds, the blocks disappear, and the screen scrolling goes on.
