Name: Klonoa
First Appearance: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile
Year: 1997
Developer: Namco
Moves[/u]
Neutral B: The Wind Bullet. Klonoa uses the ring he's holding to shoot a concentrated, chargeable blast of wind at opponents. If fully charged the bullet inflates it's target to a round puffy shape and they float in the air for a short time. The more damage the opponent has taken, the longer he's in the rounded floating shape.
Smash B: Air Board. Klonoa takes out his Air Board (think a hovering snowboard) and propels forward at a medium speed. This can also be used for means of horizontal recovery and would not keep the character from attacking again in the air like Luigi's Green Missile.
Down B: Tornado Attack. Klonoa hovers in the air a bit and tornadoes surround both sides. The longer you hold the B button the bigger the tornadoes will get. The tornado only contacts enemies at the bottom funnel area much like the whirlwinds in the original Hyrule level of SSB64.
Up B: Ear Flap. Klonoa flaps his ears to get a diagonal recovery distance. This move hits opponents around Klonoa's ears and head but nowhere else.
Extreme: Thunder Hurricane. Klonoa spins around rapidly and bolts of lightning spark around him viciously. This is Klonoa's ultimate attack in Namco X Capcom so I felt it would only be right for it to be his extreme attack in this moveset.
Taunt: Klonoa tosses his ring in the air with his right hand and catches it with his left and says his trademark "Wahoo!"
Stats[/u]
Speed: 4/5
Power: 2/5
Jump: 4/5
Fall: 2/5
Size: 3/5
Weight: 2/5
Traction: 3/5
Notes: Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil is a high selling game in both North America and Japan. The character has a popular fanbase in Japan but only more of a cult fanbase in America. The game is one of the highest rated PS2 games and as a platformer it is only rivaled by Ratchet & Clank in terms of the reviews it's received from critics. This is just me preaching that Klonoa could make it into Smash, and take into consideration that Namco is one of those closer third party developers with Nintendo.
