From: Earthbound
Year: 1995
System: SNES

[glow=red,2,300]Description[/glow]
In Earthbound, Winters is a small country, located to the north of Eagleland. The climate is cold, but usually sunny. Winters is also the homeland of Jeff (one of the Chosen Four). Winters is above all famous for Lake Tess, which hosts the last plesiosaurus in the world: the cute and friendly Tessie. A group of men, living in tents overlooking the lake, spend their time trying to see Tessie; they are called the Tessie Watchers.
This stage is shaped like SSBM's Great Bay, as you may have noticed it when looking the map. You can fight on the shores of the lake. There are three platforms hovering above the main area, so it's a good place to fight on, since there are no hazards. You can knock your opponents offscreen on the left.
The cute Bubble Monkey will play the same role as Tingle in Great Bay: he hovers above the stage thanks to his bubble gum. You can use the bubble as a tiny platform, but a single hit will blow up the bubble. If this happens, the monkey will soon pull out a pack of bubble gum and create another bubble, which will lift him upward again.
Sometimes, Tessie will show up, emerging from the water of the lake. He won't attack you, but you can use his head or his back as platforms, depending on which direction he is facing. Just remember to hop off Tessie when he dives into the lake. Actually the lake is a pit in which you can be KOed, so watch out. When Tessie appears, the wind will start blowing, slightly modifying the speed of the players.
Whenever Tessie show up, a few Tessie watchers will appear in the close background, and will stare at him with binoculars. They won't disturb the battle, though, they are meant to be cameos. In the background, you can see a snowy forest of firs and pines, Gruff Goats (pic below) wandering around, and in the far background, there is Snow Wood Boarding School.
