Name: Stanley the Bugman
Game: Donkey Kong 3
Stanley the Bugman is the protagonist of the third game in the Donkey Kong Arcade series. This game was different then the other two games, which were platformers where the goal was to reach the top, DK3 was more like a shooter. Stanley is Mario's cousin, apparently from the opposite side of the family tree as Wario and Waluigi. His moveset will be based off things in the Game and Watch Gallery series as well as the various Donkey Kong Arcade games.
Stats:
Speed: 5/10
Strength: 6/10
Weight: 4/10
Size: 5/10, On the smaller side of
Jump: 4/10
Fall: 5/10
Traction: 6/10
He's all-around a basic character. He's a worse jumper then his cousin, but it doesn't take as long for him to spin around andattack foes. He is also stronger then his more-known cousin.
Entrance: Stanley slides down a pair of rafters that dangle above stage. After he drops to the ground, the rafters are pulled up and off-screen. These rafters are identicle to the ones DK dangles from in Donkey Kong 3.
Taunt Up: Wipes the sweat off his brow.
Taunt Side: Leans on the spraycan with his elbow, accidentally pushes the pump down and coughs as the fumes rise up.
Taunt Down: Spins his spraycan then blows over the top creating a noise like blowing over a glass bottle.
Up B: Second Story - A red bar that looks exactly like the elevators in level 2 of Donkey Kong Arcade appears beneath Stanley's feet, it comes complete with a track. The elevator blasts upward quickly, carrying Stanley with it. The elevator (and track) falls off-screen when the top of the track is reached. NO, Stanley is NOT propelled through the air after it reaches the top. youtube.com/watch?v=MKHhsdeHmqE
B: Spraycan - Stanley's only unique ability, is his very trademark. Stanley pulls out his trusty Bugspray Can and blasts a toxic puff at foes. youtube.com/watch?v=bsOBB4_qaDM&feature=related
Smash B: Barrel Roll - Ah! Two references in one! This is a modified attack seeing as Sakurai has ignored Donkey Kong's barrelling skills yet again. Instead of tossing a barrel along the ground, Stanley will roll inside of one! It initially looks like a clone of Yoshi's "Egg Roll" but it isn't. The barrel can't be steered and you pop out after hitting an obstacle or travelling a short distance (less then Fox Illusion.)
Down B: Plant - Stanley plants a seed which quickly sprouts into one of the flowers seen at the bottome of the DK3 stages (see the vid used for Bugspray.) The flower will shake and release a pollen that does one of three things: Heal 5% damage, plant a flower on peoples heads, or put anyone near-by to sleep.
Final Smash: Gas Mask - Stanley clicks the upgrade* onto his spraycan. He points it up and blasts! A large portion of the stage is engulfed in yellow spray-gas that eats away the health of foes. Smaller stages might be engulfed entirely!
* - The upgrade is ALSO seen in the DK3 video. When Donkey Kong is knocked to a certain point an upgraded spraycan will fall and allow Stanley to use more powerful blasts.
