Yep. The old ape from DKC. But also from DKA. But Cranky's in a cabin these days on DK Isle with his son Donkey Kong taking charge of the family name. But he's still useful. An old geezer like him can still cough up some important info, and have you seen the old dude race? Age hasn't affected him much. And so, without further ado, Cranky Kong.
Name: Cranky Kong
Game: Donkey Kong Country
Year: 1994
Moves
Up-B: Jack Boost
Using a jack, Cranky Kong springs himself into the air. Exactly like Sonic's Up-B in Brawl, but the jack is NEVER left behind.
B: Barrel Throw
The Kong family is notorious for the barrels, perhaps (in fact, certainly) stemming from its roots with the oldest Kong in the games, Cranky. Naturally, his B move is just that: A barrel attack. Cranky Kong throws a barrel. The barrel rolls along, smashing anyone in the way, unless they clock it with a strong attack. Occasionally, rather than a barrel, he'll pull out a keg, which can't be destroyed and deals more damage, or a TNT barrel, which explodes on impact with the ground.
Side-B: Fury Cane
Cranky Kong's cane comes into play for his Side-B, a move similar to that of Marth's Dancing Blade, except that it's performed a touch differently as far as animations go.
Down-B: Oil Can
Cranky pulls out a barrel. On solid ground, he immediately places it on the ground and it ignites for a second before vanishing. In the air and on pass-through platforms, however, he throws the barrel below him, and rather than simply landing, it shatters on impact, spouting two Trouble Bugs who cause further mayhem for a second.
Final: Barrel Barrage
Cranky Kong hops on a girder hovering over the stage. Using an unlimited source of barrels, Cranky Kong assaults the stage. These barrels are very powerful and equally unpredictable, both in terms of position and quantity. The reason? YOU throw the barrels simply by hitting the button and aiming with the control stick. Iit aims faster than Snake's Grenade Launcher and you get more time and barrels, but the barrels are weaker.
Stats
Speed :: 7/10
Power :: 7/10
Jump :: 4/10
Fall :: 4/10
Size :: 6/10
Weight :: 4/10
Traction :: 6/10
In his glory days, Cranky Kong was a mighty ape possibly capable of battling Bowser to his knees, but in his age, he became frail, and he became less powerful, lighter, and by far swifter. His age hasn't kept him down, of course, otherwise he wouldn't be much use in Barrel Blast, no less, he wouldn't be much of a rival to King K. And it ESPECIALLY hasn't stopped him from loving his glory days, and so, he wields all the barrels and jacks from the days gone by.
Entrance: Cranky Kong stands up from a rocking chair.
Taunts
Up-Taunt: Cranky Kong swings his cane and shouts angrily.
Side-Taunt: Cranky Kong rests his hands on his cane and chuckles.
Down-Taunt: Cranky Kong frantically waves his arms and shouts.
