Got that little tip on the site. Very useful bit of info there.

Finally, but this probably doesn't mean that we will see more newcomers and more returners.

It might. Not necessarily, but it might.

It will probably be a new and prettier site, with a through updates, like Shigeru saying something.

Kinda like here, huh? That's possible too. Personally, I'd like a few confirmed moves, the site's only working on speculation with characters like Wario and Pit and even Pikachu.

I expect they at least show more confirmed returning characters. It has become a tradition with each new trailer. Then again, nobody said the update will include a new trailer. But still, the Media Summit and the E3 are around the corner. I wonder what did Kojima see in that game when he tried it... Man, it would be a honor if Nintendo let you show your video game character appear in SSB.

No mistake, unless you're Miyamoto, in which case your characters are pretty much required.

Speaking of that, I guess more characters from Miyamoto series have to be there. You know, like Captain Olimar and some Animal Crossing character.
^o^ Shrikeswind, can I start a new thread to make bets on what will the 3rd trailer have? Each answer you guess correctly will earn you points.

I have a feeling that SSBB will only include characters from titles sold successfully in Japan. I don't mean Japan-Only titles, I mean like "MOTHER 2 was successful, but SNES EarthBound wasn't" (MOTHER 2 = SNES EarthBound). Even though, EarthBound is now popular, Nintendo of America doesn't listen to fans as much as Nintendo of Japan does.
In SSB64 and SSBM, every character in the roster has appeared in titles that sold successfully in Japan, except for Fire Emblem 6: Sword of Seals, Roy's origin, which didn't sell well enough. However, he was added to SSBM to advertise his origin, as well as being a clone, due to Sakurai running out of time.

Quite optomistic, aren't you? I want to point out that you're partly wrong, if I understand you right. For the sake of this topic, first-week sales will be used as a guide to general success. Starfox 64 sold more copies in American than in Japan, meaning that Fox's addition to Smash (and, thus, Melee and Brawl,) was more influenced by American success than Japanese. I know that characters like Ness got in more for their games' success in Japan and characters like Pikachu for their global success, but characters like Fox would likely have been put in more because of American success rather than Japanese, whether or not Starfox 64 was successful in Japan (which I haven't quite figured out yet. T.T)

I don't mean more successful in Japan than in America and/or elsewhere. Look at Battle Clash, it wasn't successful in Japan, but it was successful in America and Europe, which is why its sequel, Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge, was only released in America and Europe.
In the SSB series, there was nothing that represents Battle Clash or its sequel. Even though, the Super Scope item was an accessory used to play Battle Clash and its sequel, I mean like the Standing Tanks (a.k.a. "STs"), the pilots (e.g. Michael Anderson), and other things seen in both Super Scope titles.
The Virtual Boy can be seen in the Trophy Room in SSBM, only in the Japanese version OR when the language is set to Japanese. The reason why it wasn't seen in the English versions OR when set to English, is that the Virtual Boy was more successful in Japan than elsewhere, but still a failure.
StarTropics, Tin Star, Gumshoe, and other titles released only in America and/or Europe weren't represented in any SSB title, because they were only made for Americans (and some for Europeans). Even though, Nintendo owns them, Nintendo is a Japanese company.
